DSG was a well-established company, serving its customers for over 30 years. Analyzing The Problem
DSG was a successful company going 35 years strong. They were ready to take the leap and take their proven products to new markets beyond their current geographic limitations. They knew in order to do this successfully they would need a platform that could provide both their B2B and B2C customers access to their products and streamline the way their sales team processed parts orders.
DSG’s parts sales business was reliant on parts personnel manning the phones to answer customer requests. While this model still serves the company well, it is not easy to scale. Only so many phone calls can be answered in a day and providing the extra physical capacity to facilitate staff can be an expensive proposition. In addition to product lines they sold through B2C channels, DSG had certain product lines that were only sold in a B2B capacity (through a network of resellers and distributors). DSG needed a way to extend its reach into markets further away from home, while still providing existing B2B and B2C customers the products and services they know and love.
Creating a Custom Solution
We were able to provide DSG with a cloud solution that made their expansion dreams a reality. With Sherpa, DSG got a single eCommerce solution that managed both B2B and B2C relationships, facilitating the specific needs of each type of transaction.
B2B relationships are strengthened by providing with logins to their own portal where they can access dealer-specific pricing, document and contract exchange. Plus DSG is able to keep track of all customer information, activity, and orders in one place with our CRM
Sherpa has enabled DSG to sell and expand its reach far beyond Saskatchewan. It provides a platform to sell to both consumers and dealers and equipped its internal sales team with management tools, reducing manual paperwork so they could handle and keep up with the new business.
